IC Info
Name: Inej Ghafa
Canon: Grishaverse books (Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom Duology)
Age: 22
Appearance: Brief overview of Inej's physical appearance; face claim is Alba Flores
Canon Point: early Crooked Kingdoms, after Inej is kidnapped and psychologically tortured by Jan Van Eck. She has spent the last five and a half years from that point in the town of Darrow.
Background: Overview of Inej's background
CRAU: Five and a half years ago, Inej arrived from her captivity under Jan Van Eck to the town of Darrow--a somewhat idyllic ocean-side town from which there's seemingly no escape. There, she relaxed into herself over the years, including a growing relationship with Kaz Brekker; the running and maintance of their bar, The Crow Club; the growth of their intimate relationship; and eventually their marriage and the birth of their twin children, Jordie and Ana. Over the last year and a half ago, Kaz, Nina, and a few other close friends she had made in Darrow disappeared from the city, leaving her first with The Crow Club, then a gambling establishment (Eider Downs), before she received her ship, The Wraith, from the end of canon (which she didn't know she received in canon, but which she found all the paperwork showing where it was from, who bought it for her, and when).
During her time in Darrow, she struggled to reconcile a rough past and a seemingly perfect environment. Murder, spying, and breaking and entering have continued to be a part of her life even in Darrow, because her time in Ketterdam simply can't be left behind.
Personality: Inej is a character of tremendous faith. She is dedicated to the worship of her Saints and ancestors, and is often troubled by the violence she has put into the world. She is generally quiet and thoughtful, but has a cutting sense of humor when she wants to. She's incredibly smart, convicted to her sense of morality, and to protecting herself and her closest friends. She is an idealist, and holds onto that idealism despite her prior slavery, her indenture to the Dregs, and the horrors of her life. Ultimately, Inej tries to live a life that her parents wouldn't be ashamed of. Even years after leaving Ketterdam and her life there, she attempts to live by the morality her parents brought her up under. She is committed to what she views as right from this stance, and is stubborn about deviation from that ideology.
Weaknesses/Temptations: Weaknesses: her friends
Temptations: contact with her family, the return to her children, assurance of safety for her friends
Sins: Prostitution; violence; murder; extortion; breaking and entering; sex out of wedlock; worship of false idols;
Powers/Abilities: No unique or magical powers/abilities.
Items: Items on Inej's person at the time of her arrival can be found HERE; additional notable items:
- A folder of deeds, for The Crow Club, Eider Downs, and The Wraith
- Pictures of her twins
- A small (jewelry-box sized) chest containing roughly $4,000 in Kruge as well as roughly $5,000 in Darrow currency, both coins and paper.
